Curse Client 0.10 - Update loop

Since yesterday, running the client loops on an update of the soft but client is not working after the update. If I relaunch the client, it again does an update, reinstall the client...

Is there a trouble ?

Yeah that definitely doesn't sound like what should be happening. Coul you do me a favor and go to the location of the client, right clicking the exe and telling me what version it lists? It should be 0.10.1 after the update.

Yes it is. Right now it is working fine and don't update version 0.10.1 with the version 0.10.1

Asp, can you check in the code if when deactivating the autostart or/and the WoW pluging it doesn't force the reinstallation ?

Whenever I uncheck these variables, the run of the 0.10.1 goes again on the installation process.

I see, I'll have a look what could be causing that. Maybe your start menu link is wrong?

My shortcut points to : "D:\Vanguard Files\Curse\CurseClient.exe"

so it seems ok.

Other thing I have noticed : when I exit Vanguard, the client exits by it owns few seconds after.

What the hell.. that sounds really strange, can't imagine why it would be exiting. It should keep running. This whole topic is really weird. Are you running Vista?

nope, Window XP Pro SP2 latest patch release, on a Shuttle SD37P2 v1 (latest bios), 4Go DDR2, with a Sapphire ATI X1950XTX (ati2dvag.dll version 6.14.0010.6660 english from 17/12/2006 04:50:46).

Ok think I found the trouble for the reinstall thing : I have 2 installation of the Curse client... The one on D drive was corrupt apparently and when installing it was using C drive, which gives the reason every time I was using the desktop shortcut why it was reinstalling all the time...

Strange it is not recovering the previous installation directory but going on the default one ("C:\Program Files\Curse").

I am checking now if it still exits after delogging from VG.

[EDIT] So far sounds so good. No weird exit after closing VG. So the issue was the reinstallation that didn't updated the shortcut on my desktop and didn't update the previous installation on the D drive but took a new directory to install. As shortcut was pointing to previous (no longer valid ?) version, it asked to update every time and even after, was some way conflicting.

Hehe yeah I figured there would be two installations in different directories. I don't install a shortcut on the desktop though afaik ;)

Strange that when the update came it didn't catch the previous installation but decided to install it in the default directory...

Anyway it works now :)
