Addon reference material

Hi,

Does anyone have an Idea of what's possible with addons in Vanguard? Can you do the same in Vanguard as in WoW?

I was wondering if there exists addons that:

-Register loot, zone, coordinates -Plot an icon on the minimap as well as the worldmap

I was thinking about making an addon like "Gatherer" from WoW. I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to making addons, but getting some reference material or pointers from people on this forum would seem like a good first step.

Vanguard only provides UI mods via some XML layout system. I think Sigil is against World of Warcraft type mods since they consider it cheating.
